About Adobe Acrobat

Acrobat is a program available from Adobe Systems, Inc. which enables people to publish documents on the web without losing formatting as they do when presented as regular web pages. Acrobat documents may be recognized by their ".pdf" filename extension. More information on the .pdf format may be found here.

The "client" program, which enables people to read these documents, is available free in versions for many operating systems including Windows, Mac, Linux, and OS/2.

If you're using an older version of the Acrobat Reader, you owe it to yourself to download the current version. Many of the problems with the earlier versions, especially the printing problems, have been fixed in the current release.
